International Black Sea University (IBSU)

International Black Sea University (IBSU) is the first private university in Georgia and the country’s first English-language educational institution. Established in 1995, IBSU offers more than 50 programmes in English and Georgian across all three levels of higher education. The university focuses on professionally oriented, high-quality education and applied research, with particular emphasis on innovation, internationalisation, and lifelong learning.

IBSU is a member of several international academic organisations and networks, including the Francophone University Association (AUF), CEEMAN, the European Law Faculties Association (ELFA), and NISPAcee. The university also has a strong focus on research, with six refereed scientific journals, two research centres, the IBSU Academy, and a Media Center.

The university comprises five schools: the School of Medicine, School of Business, School of Computer Science and Architecture, School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Law and State Governance School. With merit-based scholarships, English-taught programmes, and a vibrant campus life featuring student clubs, cultural events, and sports activities, IBSU provides an international learning environment in Tbilisi.
