Aarhus University (AU) is a public research university located in Aarhus, Denmark. Founded on 11 September 1928, it is the second-oldest university in Denmark. The university comprises five faculties: Arts, Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Health, and Business and Social Sciences, with 27 departments covering a broad range of academic disciplines. Aarhus University is also home to more than 30 internationally recognised research centres, including 15 Centres of Excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. Its main campus is centred around the University Park in Aarhus and is recognised for its distinctive yellow-brick architecture and integrated landscape design. With around 38,000 students and membership in international university networks including the Coimbra Group, the Guild, and the European University Association, AU combines strong research with an international academic environment.
